Maybe it was the fact that it was such a small intimate wedding or maybe it was because Kelley & Nathan had spent the last few months apart while Nathan was in training or maybe it was just due to their huge amount of love for one another… Whatever the reason, this was one of the sweetest wedding ceremonies I have ever had the privilege to photograph.

Top 5 Favorites
-The flower girl’s ensemble
-Handwritten vows (why isn’t this required for every wedding?!)
-A board at the reception with invitations and photos from the pre-wedding festivities
-Custom coloring books for the little ones at dinner
-A grandma who could DANCE

Reade and John David’s wedding featured one of my all-time favorite wedding vendors (Gertie Mae’s Floral Studio) and was held at one of my all-time favorite wedding venues (Mason Murer), and they introduced me to a NEW all-time favorite: Creativity Band. This was a recipe for one gorgeous PARTY.

-Slightly different bridesmaids dresses for Reade’s sisters
-Those flowers!!
-Creative (and really gorgeous) presentation of appetizers and small food plates

Since I was on maternity leave during Halley & Kenny’s August wedding, our friend Cameron Freshwater of CWF Photography stepped in to photograph the day with Aaron. As usual, Cameron did an incredible job, and I’ll confess that as I edited the photos from the wedding, I both laughed (those dance moves!) and cried (oh, when her dad first saw her!).

Top 5 Favorites:
-Custom cards for guests to leave advice and well-wishes
-Halley’s props for bridesmaid photos- sunglasses and moustaches
-A “first look” between Halley and her dad
-A bride who knows how to rock a short hair-do
-GA Tech touches from the garter to the groom’s cake to leaving in The Rambling Wreck

I had the huge (pun-intended?! wait for it…) blessing of flying to Mexico when I was seven and a half months pregnant (okay, get it now? so bad.) to photograph Sarah & Eli’s wedding. We hadn’t met until I arrived at the resort, but we then got to spend the days leading up to the wedding getting to know each other over all-you-can-eat buffets and sand volleyball.

Top 5 Favorites
-The wedding location … MEXICO!
-Flip flops for the boys and foot jewelry for the girls
-Collecting sand from the spot they said “I Do”
-A perfect sunset
-Fire dancers during the reception (definitely a wedding first for me!)

Lauren and Stege set the record for the largest wedding we had ever photographed: 25 bridesmaids and groomsmen and over 500 wedding guests! Stege is a childhood friend of ours, and we were honored to photograph and to celebrate his wedding day.

Our Top 5 Favorites
-Lauren’s fabulous Kate Spade sandals
-Stege and Lauren exchanging gifts and praying together before the ceremony, back-to-back so they couldn’t see each other
-A duet during the ceremony between Stege’s sister and one of Lauren’s sisters
-The flash flood at the reception which led to all 500 or so guests under the tents (which led to a crazy dance party)
-The incredible wedding video by our friend Stuart Atkins

-Gorgeous flowers, programs and wedding cake… all handmade by the bride
-A calendar instead of a guest book so guests could leave a note on their birthday

The raindrops started just as Chris received permission to kiss his bride, and the flash flood hit once they made their way back up the aisle. Honestly, the timing couldn’t have been better, and the rain just added to the fun and laid-back atmosphere of this wedding.

-Bouquets made of scarves (see the tutorial here)
-Benches that Chris and his family/friends handmade for the wedding
-Christmas lights behind burlap hung behind the band and the dance floor
-Artwork hung throughout the reception that is now hung in their home
